My buddy has a 2006 A4 black he asked me to shine up for him. In the lot here at work it was always nice and clean and looked pretty good. I've never done all black so I agreed to give it a go. Here she is before I started to clay:



So off I go. First a good Dawn bath.......



....and then clayed. I was a bit surprised at the amount of contaminants in the paint:




That should have been a warning for what I was about to encounter when I got it dried and put some bright light on it. Oh boy, what did I get myself into.....















As you can see the paint was absolutely trashed. He bought it off lease from someone who obviosly never washed it correctly (brush car washes) and never gave it any real care. I was scratching my head as I didn't know where to even start. It's hard to believe that from 20 feet it always looked so good, only for it to look like this under spots. After crying to my mommy, I turned my hat around and dug in.
