Vehicle number 2 of 3 that Detail Werkz got the honor to prepare for sale at the 2009 Houston Classic Auction.
This original tank sticker, four-speed, numbers matching rare C.O.P.O. Corvette was restored in the late 1990s with just over 48,000 ticks on the odometer and now reads just over 49,000 original miles. Because if was ordered with the L89 aluminum cylinder head option which helps throw out a whopping 435 horsepower, other upgrades were necessarily ordered along with it. To cope with the power, the Corvette has a heavy-duty suspension and the ultra high-performance 4.11:1 posi-traction limited-slip differential. To allow for better exhaust flow, not to mention a killer sound, this Vette was also equipped with the N11 off road exhaust system. This rare Corvette is beautifully finished in its original OEM code 978 color of Laguna Blue Metallic and has matching dark blue interior with a special order beige soft top.
A full correction was obtained via high-speed, the GI Extreme Cut Beta and EVP using a red meguiars foam pad. After removing most of the RIDS with this technique we moved to the GI Extreme Beta 4 and 5 using the GI yellow and red foam pads. After applying a glaze via the 7424 and black foam pad, we applied the GI Signature High Gloss via the 7424 and GI red foam pad and then applied 2 coats of the GI Concorso Gloss finishing up with a few wipe downs with GI Gloss Enhancer.
The interior was fired up with the Satin Leather Cleaner and T.R.V. was applied to all the vinyl, plastic and rubber parts and the seats were treated with the Satin Leather Polish.
Engine and tires were treated with the Signature Tire Gloss.
This gem went for 130K at the auction!
