Detail Werkz - 2009 Nissan GTR "White"

Got a chance to detail this great looking 2009 Nissan GTR. I really did not even know I was going to get to detail this. The owner had a few rides and made his final decision on which vehicle he wanted me to detail at the last second. The owner travels Monday - Friday so I had to schedule this on a Saturday morning. I was by myself on this detail, but was a very enjoyable detail for me to do. What a great car the GTR is. I really love the body lines.

Walking around the car with the owner I noticed a lot of exhaust stuck on the rear of the car. With this in mind I started my detail.

I first started by spraying P21s Total Auto Wash on the lower areas of the car and the rear area of the car. I let this sit for about 30-60 secs and hot-foamed the whole car with 230 degree filtered water. I let this sit for about 1 min and started to hand wash the car. After I had double washed the car I dried the car off with a water blade and some waffle-weave micro-fiber drying towels.

Once the car was somewhat dry I started to clay the vehicle one panel at a time. I picked the Gloss-It lavender clay for this vehicle and using a spray bottle and some lube I work each panel at a time making sure the car is contamination free before moving to the next panel.

After the clay treatment I blow dry the car making sure to get that hidden water out of cracks and crevices. Once the car is fully dried, I grab the flex, foam pad and some Evolution polish. I worked the whole car really hitting the rear more to remove the over spray from the exhaust that the clay would not remove very quickly. I like the Evolution Polish and I like to call it my liquid clay treatment. Once I have taken off the residue of the evolution polish I applied a coat of the Gloss Finish, I topped the gloss finish with a coat of the new Concorso polish. I left this to cure some and I went to work on the interior.

I used the Satin Leather Cleaner to clean all the vinyl, plastics, rubber and leather in the car. Once I had it all cleaned I applied the T.R.V. on all the vinyl, plastic and rubber items as well as the leather seats. I also hit the tires with the T.R.V. and then topped the leather seats with the Satin Leather Polish.

The last step was to remove the polish and top the tire with the Signature Gloss Tire Dressing and polish the rims with gloss finish. I also polished the door jambs. A quick vacuum and strip of the carpets and this detail was completed in just under 4.5 hours.

Enjoy the shots. Unfortunately it was about 48 degrees and no sun but the shots still came out great!

Looks dreamy, very fine job Brian...and btw striping the seats, nice touch!

Quick off topic question...when you wash a car with Dawn in a bucket how much do you use for about 3 gallons of water to strip off all prior LSP?

I buy my Dawn at SAMS here in Dallas. They come in a HUGE container that has a PUMP system. For about 3 gallons of water I pump 3 full pumps into the bucket. I have noticed that by washing the car two times around, then claying the car using the dawn/water mixture that the car is stripped of any LSP. When I put my water in the bucket I try not to create tons of foam. After the water is in the bucket I use my hand to mix the dawn and water.

The Satin Leather Polish has types of mink oils in it to give nutrients to the leathers, plastics, rubbers and vinyl items.

Both the T.R.V. and Satin Leather Polish do not have any kind of dyes in them so they will not apply color back to the leather and vinyls. With the oils they tend to look deeper and new life back to them. After about 6 or so hours the finish satins out and looks very natural.
