Up to bat is a 2003 MB CL55 that came to the Detail Werkz studio for a Platinum High Gloss. The vehicle had not been taking care of by the previous owner. The current owner just picked it up and wanted it to look a bit better. We decided that the Platinum High Gloss would be perfect for his budget.
No pre-delivery, wash, clay, dry photos, but we have all seen those time after time....
On to the paint correction. Once I got it into the studio and turned off all the lights except one side of halogens you could really see the damage this car had. Tons of swirls, hard water stains and many many RIDS.
Again this is our Platinum High Gloss package so our main focus is to remove as mush of the swirls first then try to cut down the RIDS by 60-70%.
Here is what the whole car pretty much looked like...
On our Platinum treatments we strive to stay away from the high-speed and focus on DA machines. For this one I decided to try my new 7424XP, GI white foam pad and One Step Machine Polish. This combo worked great and I was able to quickly remove the swirls and some of the lighter RIDS.
Here is a 50/50 shot of the hood.

Here is the driver front fender. Both sides of the car was this bad, and as you got lower on the panel the worse it was, telling me this vehicle was washed often at a drive thru car wash center.

The above shots are pre 70/30 wipe down, but wanted to show the correction obtained.

So once the paint correction was completed we applied 2x Signature Gloss and 1x Gloss Finish Polish.
Shots of the polishes curing.
Here is the crew wiping off the GI polishes.
We pulled out the car to do the final wipe down when the client called and asked if we could do an engine detail.
We lucked out in that it was not very dirty, so we sprayed GI Wheel Gel on the engine and other areas of the engine bay and let that dwel for about a min. Using different brushes we agitaed the areas that were dirty and then using a low pressure water hose we washed off the motor as not to get the competed paint dirty and wet.
Once the motor was blown dry, we applied the GI Wheel Dressing to the entire engine bay using a paint brush to get into the groves and hard to reach area. Once the dressing dried some we buffed it off using microfiber towels.
As the Texas sun was starting to set, I snapped a few sun shots to show the paint correction work. For a one-step correction I am very pleased with the outcome. The client will be blown away at the transformation.
After looking at these photos its hard to think this is a 2003!
Enjoy the photos...
